Bernhard Schweizer, partner at Sensus Communication Consultants, has taught and mentored the investor relations course offered by HWZ University of Applied Sciences Zurich for the sixth year in succession. On October 11, 2012, the young communication professionals have now received their bachelor diplomas. Over 100 students from four different bachelor study groups had the opportunity to study the basics, the legal framework, specific issues and practical work in financial and investor communications during their eighth semester. “The exchange with young communications professionals was again very enriching,” says Bernhard Schweizer, “while being challenging! It’s very important to me to highlight trends and current issues in addition to imparting knowledge. As soon as students recognize the link between their own professional environment and current affairs, they get engaged in exciting discussions.”
As part of a course comprising 36 lessons, students met with financial analysts and SIX Swiss Exchange Regulation officials giving them the opportunity to deepen their understanding and gaining an insight into the perspective of IR practitioners. A case in point for some of the study groups was also the attendance at a general assembly of a ABB.
